MEES – Services aux autochtones et développement nordique

The Direction des services aux autochtones et développement nordique is the part of the Quebec Ministry of Education (MEES) that coordinates with the educational leaders of the three treaty nations in Quebec (Cree, Naskapi, and Inuit). The other eight nations do not have formal connections with the MEES. Among other responsibilities is making sure that provincial educational information is available in the local languages of the treaty nations.

In addition to working with the three treaty nations, they also help other groups within the Quebec educational community to better understand the different realities of the each of the Indigenous groups within Quebec.
